The Classic Details
Each build features a fully rebuilt, period-correct Rover V8 engine (3.5L to 4.6L), available in either carburettor or EFI configuration, depending on year and client preference. Engines are stripped, hot-tanked, machined, and rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, gaskets, timing sets, and upgraded oil pumps. Customers can opt for OEM-spec cam profiles or uprated versions to enhance torque and drivability. The engine bay is detailed to concours-level presentation.
Factory-correct transmission options include the LT95 4-speed manual or the ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic. Both are fully rebuilt with new seals, clutches, and bearings. Optional upgrades include high-stall torque converters and shift refinements for improved road manners. Transfer cases are overhauled with new intermediate shafts, bearings, and seals — retaining original high/low range control via factory levers.
The original front and rear axle housings are retained and rebuilt to factory specifications. This includes full refurbishment of swivel housings, replacement of wheel bearings, seals, and overhauling the differentials with new bearings and shims. Stock 10-spline axles are standard for period-correct restorations, preserving the original driving character. However, optional 24-spline axles and upgraded internals are available for those looking to future-proof the drivetrain or accommodate higher-output engine options. Driveshafts are rebuilt and balanced, and factory final drive ratios are retained unless otherwise specified.
The original coil-spring suspension is restored with new OEM-spec or subtly uprated springs and dampers. All bushes are replaced throughout. Bilstein or Koni shocks are offered depending on ride preferences. Geometry is carefully aligned to factory specifications, delivering a supple and composed ride.
Completely renewed braking systems include new callipers, master cylinders, hard lines, and flexible hoses. Optional upgrades include vented front rotors and dual-diaphragm boosters for improved braking performance and pedal feel.
Power steering systems are fully rebuilt, including pumps, lines, and steering boxes. An optional tighter steering ratio is available for more responsive road manners — while maintaining the original turning circle and classic feel.
The vehicle is fully rewired with new looms — featuring period-correct cloth wrap where applicable. Upgrades include modern blade fuse boxes, relayed headlights, USB charging points, and hidden dual-battery systems for auxiliary power or overlanding needs.
Classic Lucas-style lighting and original bezels are retained for authenticity. All lighting is internally upgraded to LED for improved brightness and reliability. Dash lighting is dimmable, and relays are hidden for a clean install. Optional headlight upgrades and improved rear lighting ensure modern functionality with classic style.
Interiors are refinished to original specification or bespoke to customer tastes. Options include genuine Connolly leather, premium hides, or period-correct materials like Teddy Bear cloth or velour. Dash pads are restored or re-trimmed, headliners replaced, and door cards rebuilt with new boards and foams. Original switchgear is retained and refurbished where possible.
Original heater boxes are rebuilt with new cores, fans, and control units. For enhanced comfort, optional full HVAC retrofits are available — integrating modern A/C systems while respecting the original dash layout. Interior comfort is further improved with full soundproofing, insulation, heated seats, and discreetly integrated audio upgrades.
Each shell is stripped and repaired using traditional metalwork techniques — including panel beating, lead wiping, and rust remediation. Bodywork is prepared with minimal filler and painted in either original Land Rover colours or custom finishes. Seam sealer is reapplied throughout. The underside is finished in rust protection and stone guard, colour-matched where appropriate.
All glass is either polished or replaced with OEM or . Every seal, channel, and rubber is replaced, including windscreen, alpine windows, and tailgate apertures. Windscreens are replaced with correct Triplex or laminated safety glass.
Original chassis is steam-cleaned, media-blasted, inspected, and repaired where necessary. Rust prevention includes internal wax injection and external coating in POR15 or equivalent, with optional body-colour finish. Suspension mounts are reinforced, and galvanised chassis options are available for long-term durability.
Options include restored Rostyles, original 3-spoke alloys, or utilitarian steel wheels — all refinished in period-correct colours. Fitted with premium all-terrain tyres as standard, with choices for road-biased or off-road-focused rubber depending on client use case.
